Technology for a Better and Safer Future
"Trust is the new currency" was the main theme of the World Economic Forum summit in Davos 2025, where the Danish Technological Institute was invited as a speaker and contributor. Europe faces major and complex challenges - technological, competitive, and defense-related - and cooperation and trust across borders, sectors, and stakeholders are crucial.
In 2024, the Danish Technological Institute has hosted new types of partnerships across value and supply chains, focusing on rapidly maturing technologies and new forms of collaboration. This precisely matches the role identified as essential in Davos, and it represents a contemporary realization of the Institute's more than 100-year-old vision to position itself "where you sense the Institute's help will be necessary."
We succeed when businesses succeed
In 2024, the Institute has helped over 11,000 companies with new solutions to specific challenges they lack the resources or knowledge to solve themselves. The Institute steps in where the market cannot address the task alone, and we assume risk on behalf of companies by investing in equipment and developing new knowledge. With concrete technological solutions, expertise, and laboratories, we help businesses and society navigate major transitions.
Once again in 2024, the Danish Technological Institute was awarded Performance Contracts for 2025-2028 from the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. These contracts enable the development of high-risk competencies and capacities for the benefit of businesses in Denmark. When the business community substantiates our relevance and value through both words and actions - the Institute has succeeded.
An Indispensable Part of the Danish Innovation System
Denmark's growth and prosperity are built on competitive companies with strong positions in global value chains. The Institute transforms ideas into business and creates robust ecosystems around key technologies. By supporting companies' digital and green transitions, we contribute step by step to the major agendas.
Impact for Society, Business, and People
The Institute's 1,100 employees are driven by strong values and determination. They embody the role of Approved Technological Service Institute every day with high integrity and societal focus, ensuring results through their integrity and result-oriented behavior.
As an advisor to the European Commission ahead of the Danish EU Presidency in 2025, the Institute contributes to securing Europe's position in geopolitically challenging times. Particular focus is on so-called dual-use technologies, serving both civilian and defense purposes. This means that resilience is added to competitiveness, green transition, and digital transformation in the range of impacts that the Danish Technological Institute works to create for society, business, and people in the coming years. Therefore, we are also updating our motto to "Technology for a Better and Safer Future."
