Heat pump laboratory - Unique testing of sound power level
In 2013, the Heat Pump Laboratory was expanded with two highly advanced climate chambers, each chamber is 100 m3.
These two climate chambers enable us to test the efficiency, performance and sound power level of a heat pump at the same time and at different climate conditions.
Our test facilities also allow us to test the efficiency of air conditioners and heat pumps under realistic conditions similar to the units' actual conditions. During testing, one of the chambers simulates the outdoor climate of the heat pump's outdoor unit and the other chamber simulates the indoor climate, where the heat and energy are used. In the outdoor climate chamber, the temperature can range from -25 °C to 50 °C.
This means that we can test heat pumps under conditions equivalent to the European weather over a year, including during defrosting.
