Biomass for fermentation - Introduction
In Denmark, residual biomass from primary and food production is mainly used for the production of energy, but at Danish Technological Institute we can carry out tests with the aim of creating a higher bio-economic value for different biomass.
Biomass is a raw material that can be used for many different purposes.
We can e.g., ferment liquid and pumpable biomass.
The processes around the liquid biomass, such as precision fermentation, are more demanding than the solid ones, such as e.g., silage. In our fermentation plant, we can work with approx. one ton per day.
