Biomass for fermentation - Green biomass
The green biomass such as grass and clover, beet tops or rapeseed is a biomass we work a lot with within biorefining and cascade utilization at the Danish Technological Institute.
The green biomass is often used today for composting or biogas but has many other uses if it undergoes a fermentation or refining process.
E.g., sugar beet tops and leafy greens contains a good amount of proteins that can be used for feed or in the food industry, as a substitute for e.g. soy proteins we import as feed for livestock today.
