Biofuels enable cleaner combustion with significant reductions in fine particles (PM) and black carbon emissions compared to conventional marine fuels. Based on published emissions data, it is estimated that pure biofuel (B100) can reduce BC and PM emissions from ship engines by over 50% compared to conventional marine fuels.

This page will be updated with notes on biofuel selection and logistics, bunkering logistics, as well as insights and results from the biofuel demonstration campaign – both with and without a combination with other operational measures.
