Become a certified Scrum Master

The Scrum Master ensures that the Scrum team has a working environment that is appropriate for the use of the Scrum framework and facilitates that the project moving forward by removing obstacles/impediments. In this course, you will learn how to do this in the best possible way and get your competencies on paper.

The course gives you the opportunity to take two certifications: Scrum Developer Certified (SDC®) and Scrum Master Certified (SMC®). The SDC® certification is usually taken before the SMC® certification and gives you a solid knowledge of the Scrum framework.

Participant profile

The course is ideal for anyone who wants to work with Scrum in teams. You do not need to have any knowledge of project management, agile or Scrum.

Prerequisites

If you have no knowledge of Scrum, it is recommended that you have completed the Scrum Developer Certified (SDC®) before taking the Scrum Master certification. Therefore, we have included the SDC certification as e-learning at this course (including certification).

Form

The course is offered as blended learning - a combination of e-learning and 2 days of classroom-based training.

Before the training days, it is recommended that you have:

  1. Read the SBOK® Guide (4th edition)

  2. Completed the e-learning for Scrum Developer Certification (SDC®)

  3. Completed the e-learning for Scrum Master Certification (SMC®)

You will gain access to the ScrumStudy learning platform. Here you will find e-learning for Scrum Developer Certification (SDC®) and Scrum Master Certification (SMC®)

  • SDC®: 12 chapters, 75 videos, total approx. 5.5 hours

  • SMC®: 5 chapters, 26 videos, total approx. 3.5 hours

In addition to the videos, you will find quizzes/tests, an interactive case study and terminology lists on the learning platform. You should expect to spend approximately 20 hours in total for preparation.

Certifications

You book your exams via the learning platform at ScrumStudy at your convenience. The exams are a ProctorU exam, where a person monitors through your webcam. You will be asked to show photo ID (e.g. driver's license or passport) at the start of the exam.

Scrum Developer Certification (SDC®)

The exam is a multiple-choice exam that you take online. There are 75 questions and there are no penalty points for wrong answers. The duration of the exam is 1.5 hours/90 minutes.

Scrum Master Certification (SMC®)

The exam is a multiple-choice exam that you take online. There are 100 questions and there are no penalties for wrong answers. The duration of the exam is 2 hours/120 minutes.

 

Trainer

Anne has a MSc/PhD in Chemistry and Biotechnology and has worked in Product Development in Biotech/Medico and in Danish basic research for 15 years. For the past 12 years, she has worked as a consultant and trainer within project management. Since 2014, she has taught agile project management and PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner, and how to bridge the gap between agile product development methods and project management. Anne values including practical examples and facilitating students' knowledge in her teaching.
