Data Centre Foundation Certificate (DCFC®)

The Data Centre Foundation Certificate (DCFC®) is a 2-day course designed to deliver foundation knowledge about data centre facilities infrastructure. It provides participants with global overview and knowledge on data centres which will be of advantage to the participants who are looking at joining the ranks of professionals working in the data centre, ICT, infrastructure or the mechanical and electrical (M&E) design industries. It will also form a solid foundation for participants who wish to pursue his/her studies either academically or to further his/her industry specialisation with professional certification courses on data centre design/build, operations/governance and/or standards/compliance. With the tremendous growth of data and the data centres to support it, the demand for data centre professionals will grow in tandem.

Virtual Course

You can choose to participate in this course virtually with live instructors together with students from all over the world via your own PC. The exam can be taken as an online exam no later than 7 days after the course is held. You will receive a voucher for the online exam.

Participant profile

The audience for this course is anyone who wants to acquire foundation level knowledge on data centre infrastructure. This course is ideally suited for data centre new hires, internal data centre support staff, IT support staff who work in the data centre, helpdesk staff, vendors/suppliers who install/maintain data centre equipment, building maintenance staff including data centre cleaners and other supporting functions, and fresh graduates. This course is also well suited for individuals working in data centre business support functions such as sales/pre-sales, HR, Finance and business administration.

Exam: Data Centre Foundation Certificate (DCFC®)

  • Questions: 40 questions

  • Time: 1 hour

  • Form: Multiple-choice, closed-book

The passing mark is 24 out of 40. The exam is included in the course fee.

Certification and Accreditation

After passing the exam you will be awarded the internationally accredited and recognized 'Data Centre Foundation Certificate' (DCFC®) certificate.

DCFC® is globally accredited by EXIN, a fully independent exam and certification institute.

The DCFC® certificate is valid for 3 years, after which recertification is required. Please see the EPI Recertification Program for available options.

 

Trainer

Simon Besteman
Simon Besteman is a French and German citizen and a veteran of the internet industry. He has more than 20 years of experience working with ISPs, vendors, data centers, and hardware and software vendors in the role of management consultant in a variety of organizations. Simon is a Certified EPI Instructor in CDCP, CDCS and CDFOM. He has held courses in Europe, South Africa and Ethiopia for EPI and has always received good feedback from the course participants.
